Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Jimmy Boyce (Labour), on Thursday, 19 November 1992, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 31 members in total.
HON MEMBER FOR TORBAY AND MAXWELL PENSIONERS
That this House notes that the honourable Member for Torbay has recently received libel damages of a reported ??250,000 from the Daily Mirror over stories concerning the Maxwell scandal; further notes his repeated public concern over the plight of the Mirror and Maxwell pensioners; and suggests he could best demonstrate that concern by donating the libel award to the official fund set up by the Government to compensate the Maxwell pensioners.
