Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Jack Thompson (Labour), on Thursday, 22 October 1992, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 58 members in total.
OPENCAST MINERALS PLANNING GUIDANCE NOTES 3
That this House notes with deep concern that the long-awaited statement from the Secretary of State for the Environment about the outcome of the review of the Minerals Planning Guidance Notes 3, which are heavily biased in favour of planning operations for mineral extractions, is allowing planning applications to be approved, even when there is overwhelming evidence that they are detrimental to the environment and the local community; and stresses that the need for an urgent response to the views expressed by interested parties in modifying its Minerals Planning Guidance Note 3 is overwhelming.
