Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor David Hinchliffe (Labour), on Wednesday, 28 March 1990, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 31 members in total.

Towyn Flood Disaster and the Welsh Rugby Union

That this House deplores the refusal of the Welsh Rugby Union to sanction a fund raising fixture between Widnes Rugby League Club and a select Welsh Rugby Union team in aid of the Towyn Flood Appeal, one half of the match to have been played under rugby league rules and the other under rugby union rules; believes that such an event would have had great fund raising potential; and deeply regrets that it has been unable to take place because of the attitudes of the Welsh Rugby Union towards Rugby League.
