Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Derek Enright (Labour), on Tuesday, 22 March 1994, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 78 members in total.
HAZARDOUS LOADS AND THE HAZCHEM CODE
That this House notes that the Hazchem code identifies the material being received in a hazardous load and gives vital information to the emergency services on its handling; further observes that the ADR system, used on the continent, omits the instructions to firefighters and other emergency services; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to ensure that the European Union adopts the superior Hazchem code as the compulsory marking for hazardous loads.
