Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Soley (Labour), on Tuesday, 22 March 1994, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 41 members in total.
OFSTED INSPECTORS AND HAMMERSMITH SCHOOL
That this House notes that the grant maintained Stratford School and the Battersea Technology College were both severely criticised by the OFSTED Inspector; and notes that the Secretary of State for Education has chosen to ignore those bad reports and has simply concentrated on Hammersmith School in a manner that will undermine morale of both staff and teachers and which ignores the Inspector's recognition of the steps taken to improve the school, not least by the appointment of an acting head who previously worked as an inspector in the Failing Schools Team.
