AVAILABILITY OF FREE CASH MACHINES

That this House acknowledges the recent report by the Nationwide Building Society entitled Free Cash Machines Under Threat; recognises that UK financial institutions are currently charging more than ??60 million per annum to customers for withdrawing their own money via automatic teller machines and that the number of machines making such charges has increased by 40 per cent. this year alone; and calls upon every honourable Member to assist in highlighting this exorbitant and unnecessary charge to the public.
