SERIOUS FRAUD OFFICE AND LLOYD'S

That this House notes with deep concern the Serious Fraud Office's abandonment of its investigation into the loss making Gooda Walker syndicates; calls on the Attorney General to instruct the Serious Fraud Office to resume its inquiries with a view to prosecutions and to make a statement to the House as to whether the investigation has been in any way obstructed, whether there is a conspiracy in Lloyd's to cover up the corruption, insider dealing and fraud which has been endemic in Gooda Walker syndicates; and calls on the President of the Board of trade to subject the Lloyd's insurance market to statutorily based external regulation that could curb such widespread abuse.
