Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Bob Ainsworth (Labour), on Tuesday, 15 February 1994, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 73 members in total.
VICTIMISATION AT J.S.CHINN
That this House condemns in the strongest terms the attitude and actions of the management at J.S. Chinn and Company Ltd., of Coventry Road, Exhall; notes that the company has dismissed the MSF craft sector convener, who has 10 years' service with the company and has refused to listen to representations made by the workforce and the trade union about the unfairness of his selection; further notes that the workforce decided by ballot almost unanimously to strike in support of their representative, has subsequently done so and that the company has now issued them with dismissal notices; further notes that they have refused to discuss the issue with the local Member of Parliament or with the press; and calls upon all trade unions in Coventry and elsewhere to give the maximum support to the Chinns workforce.
