COMMONWEALTH INSTITUTE
That this House reaffirms its wholehearted admiration for the work of the Commonwealth Institute, both in London and its Northern Regional Centre in the Saltaire area of Bradford; notes the wonderful impact of the latter, though less than three years old; attests once more its commitment to spread the knowledge and understanding of the principles of the Commonwealth and its diverse peoples throughout the United Kingdom; is equally full of praise for the autonomous Institute in Edinburgh; notes that the ACP-EEC Foundation for Cultural Co-operation has contributed to the Institute's funds; and calls, therefore, upon Her Majesty's Government to re-examine its budgetary priorities and restore the Institute's grants urgently.
