Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Harry Cohen (Labour), on Tuesday, 22 February 1994, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 68 members in total.

WATERLOO CUP

That this House notes with disgust that the annual hare coursing event, the Waterloo Cup from 23rd to 25th February at Altcar in Merseyside; regrets that despite the fact that the vast majority of honourable Members and the public support legislation to outlaw this activity the Government have not agreed to parliamentary requests to allow a debate on the issue on abolishing hare coursing; notes that the hare population is, in many areas, in a state of serious decline; and calls upon the Government, as a matter of urgency, to allow time for a debate on this barbaric so-called 'sport'.
