To give estimates of no of HIV-positive people who are not homosexual, bisexual, drug-abusers or haemophiliacs - Report of working group on short term prediction of HIV infection & AIDS in England & Wales estimate that between 20,000 & 50,000 individuals probably infected at end of 1987. Of these between 2,500 & 7,000 were not in abovementioned categories
