To ask the Secretary of State for Health, if he will list (a) spearhead primary care trusts and (b) the constituencies that they cover in the South West. - (Holding answer 21 February 2005).

Mr. Flook: To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list the spearhead primary care trusts and the constituencies that they cover in the south-west. [216924] Ms Rosie Winterton: [holding answer 21 February 2005]: There are no spearhead primary care trusts within the south-west. The spearhead group list consists of the local authority areas that were in the bottom fifth nationally for three or more of the following five factors: Male life expectancy at birth, Female life expectancy at birth, Cancer mortality rate in under 75s, Cardio vascular disease mortality rate in under 75s, The index of multiple deprivation 2004 (local authority summary), average score. Note: Data for the first four factors is for the period 1995-97.
