Mr. Gill: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many (a) crimes, (b) burglaries, (c) thefts and (d) vehicle-related crimes were reported to the police in Leicester, South in each year since 1997. [217986] Ms Blears: The available information is given in the tables. Leicester, South comes within the Leicester Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP) area and data at CDRP level has only been collected from 1999-2000. Table 1 gives figures for burglary and vehicle-related thefts for the Leicester CDRP from 1999-2000 to 2001-02. Figures for all crime and other thefts were not collected during these periods. Table 2 gives all the figures requested for 2002-03 and 2003-04. Because of the introduction of the National Crime Recording Standard in April 2002, figures from this date are not directly comparable with those for earlier years.
