- To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what estimate he has made of the number of people executed in Iran (a) since May 1999 and (b) between January 1995 and May 1999.

Mr. Win Griffiths: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what estimate he has made of the number of people executed in Iran (a) since May 1999 and (b) between January 1995 and May 1999. [224186] Mr. Rammell: We are unable to assess reliably the number of executions taking place in Iran. Respected international human rights NGOs have published estimates in the region of 100 cases a year.
