Climate Change

- To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs how much additional investment in clean energy technologies from (a) public and (b) private sources is guaranteed under the G8 Plan of Action on climate change.

The G8 Plan of Action on climate change is a comprehensive programme of specific actions on clean energy and energy efficiency. The World Bank has agreed to lead on developing a framework for investment to finance these changes, which will be discussed at the first meeting of the G8 Climate Change Dialogue meeting on 1 November 2005.
