The Irish Government announced on 3 December 2003 its proposal to relocate 30 staff of Foras na Gaeilge from its present headquarters in Dublin to Gweedore in County Donegal as part of a broader policy of decentralisation of public sector jobs. Any such relocation would be subject to and require the approval of the North/South Ministerial Council.
