Northern Ireland: Register of Electors

Question
With regard to the register of electors in Northern Ireland—(a) how many electors are on the register more than once with the same national insurance number;(b) what rule permits electors to register more than once;(c) how many people who are registered more than once with the same national insurance number voted more than once at the recent general and council elections; and

The Chief Electoral Officer for Northern Ireland (Mr D A Stanley) has written to the noble Lord.A copy of the letter has been placed in the Library.
