Asylum Seekers

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many Iraqi asylum seekers were receiving section 4 support from the National Asylum Support Service as at 31 July (a) 2005 and (b) 2004.
Answer

[holding answer 17 October 2005]: Information on the number supported under section four for 31 July 2004 is not available. On 31 July 2005 there were 6115¹ nationals of Iraq in receipt of section four support."¹All figures are provisional and have been rounded to nearest 5."
