Written question asked by Baroness David (Labour), in the House of Lords. It was answered by Lord Warner (Labour) on Wednesday, 20 July 2005.

National Service Framework for Children, Young People and Maternity Services

Question
Whether they have set any targets to measure the provision of integrated and community-based paediatric continence services, as described in the Children's National Service Framework.
Answer

The National Service Framework for Children, Young People and Maternity Services includes a standard on the development of integrated and community-based paediatric continence services. The National Health Service and local authorities will be increasingly assessed by the Healthcare Commission on its progress towards meeting those standards raised in the NSF. However, the pace of change and immediate local priorities will vary so it would not be appropriate to set targets centrally.
