Police Intelligence

- What is the budget allocated by the Home Office for the development of a national police intelligence system; and what proportion of this budget has been expended to date.

The budget for the IMPACT programme in 2005–06 is £52 million. In the current year £17 million has been allocated to police forces and an additional £5 million has been spent as at the end of August 2005. Budgets for future years have yet to be finalised. Some £7.3 million was spent in 2004–05.
