- To ask the Deputy Prime Minister whether his recent letter to Sir Christopher Meyer was sent in his official capacity; and if he will place a copy in the Library.

My right hon. Friend's letter expressed his personal view as Deputy Prime Minister. The Government's view was set out in the Cabinet Secretary's letter of 4 November which is in the Library of the House. My right hon. Friend has not placed his letter in the Library.
