Proceeding contribution from Geoffrey Hoon (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 10 November 2005. It occurred during Business statement on Business of the House.
Business of the House
I am grateful to my hon. Friend for his practical and realistic view of the September sessions. He was a member of the Modernisation Committee at the relevant time, so it is interesting for the House to hear to his thoughts in the light of our experience. One consequence of not having September sessions is that we need to examine whether there are other ways in which the Government can be held to account. I am certainly willing to consider his suggestion.
