Business question from Owen Paterson (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 1 December 2005. It occurred during Business statement on Business of the House.

Business of the House

Virtually everything that the Deputy Leader said on policing is wrong. I was lucky enough to be called in the Westminster Hall debate. The Minister did not answer any of my questions. There were Opposition Members right round Westminster Hall to within two seats of where the Parliamentary Private Secretary should have been sitting who were not called. At a debate that I had with the Under-Secretary of State, he could not answer any questions from the chief constable and the chairman of the authority— Can we replace the debate on pharmaceutical regulations with a debate on a substantive motion on restructuring the police forces?
