Human Rights (Iraq)

- To ask the Solicitor-General pursuant to his answer of 5 December 2005, Official Report, column 964W, on human rights (Iraq), whether Mr. Phil Shiner has provided evidence of potential criminal offences to the prosecuting authorities; and if he will place in the Library the correspondence between Mr. Phil Shiner and the Attorney-General's office.

Mr. Phil Shiner has provided some information to the prosecuting authorities. Investigations are ongoing into these allegations. I will not place correspondence between Mr. Phil Shiner and my office in the Library because it would be inappropriate to do so while these issues are being considered.
