Roads

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many miles of new roads for which his Department is responsible have been built in each year since 1997, broken down by category of road.

Answer

I refer the hon. Member to my answer of 27 June 2005, Official Report, columns 1263–66W, for the information up to June 2005. The schemes completed on the trunk road network in England, since June 2005, and their approximate lengths are shown in the following tables:
