Child Protection

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills what progress has been made towards implementing the recommendations of the second joint chief inspectors' report on arrangements to safeguard children, published on 10 June 2005.

Answer: The second joint chief inspectors' report on arrangements to safeguard children was published on 14 July 2005. The Government published its response to the recommendations contained in the report on 2 March 2006. The response includes an action plan which sets out the actions the Government will take to address the chief inspectors' recommendations and the timescales for this work. The action plan should be incorporated into the forward work programmes of the relevant Government Departments.
