- To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions pursuant to his answer of 19 January 2006, Official Report, column 1550W, on housing benefit, what additional information he would need to collect to estimate the cost.

The main constraint in calculating accurately the cost requested is that there is no information about the individuals that would have been affected (gainers and floaters on) and the additional benefit they would have received had the disregards been changed from 1988 onwards. We do not have the necessary information to make the estimate; it would not be possible collect the necessary information retrospectively.
