To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many cases of MRSA there have been in each hospital in Lancashire in each of the last five years.

The information is not available in the suggested format. However, the best available information on methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) blood stream infections is from the mandatory surveillance scheme on health care associated infections, which started in April 2001.The latest annual figures for national health service hospital trusts in the Lancashire area are shown in the table.
