Drug Treatment

- To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what plans he has to extend services for the treatment of intravenous drug users in the Province.

There are no current plans to extend services for the treatment of intravenous drug users. However the form, format and level of current services continue to be assessed, and the newly launched consultation document New Strategic Direction for Alcohol and Drugs in Northern Ireland 2006–2011 does contain proposals in respect of the commissioning and provision of such services.
