Public Defender Service
- Question
- To ask the Minister of State, Department for Constitutional Affairs what comparison the Government have made of the costs of the Public Defender Service and those of legal aid-funded solicitors.

The independent research that has been commissioned to report on the Public Defender Service will compare and analyse the costs of the Public Defender Service with those of private practitioners specialising in criminal legal aid work. It is expected that the research will be published shortly.
