- To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many people her Department estimates died from smoking-related illnesses in the last year for which figures are available.

““The smoking epidemic in England””, published by the Health Development Agency in November 2004, estimated that, in England, 86,500 deaths a year were attributed to smoking.A copy is available in the Library.
