Prisons: Drug Treatment

A comprehensive framework is in place to address the wide-ranging needs of drug misusers in custody: clinical services (detoxification and/or maintenance prescribing programmes), available in all local and remand prisons; CARATs (counselling, assessment, referral, advice and throughcare services), available in all prisons; and drug rehabilitation programmes, 116 intensive drug-rehabilitation programmes running in 103 establishments, listed in the table attached below.
