- To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills what guidance her Department has issued regarding setting children by ability in schools.

We have published case studies, research evidence and, through our National Strategies and Gifted and Talented programmes, issued guidance to schools to help support their own professional judgement when considering a range of ability grouping practices to better meet the learning needs of pupils and ensure their progression.
