Mental Health
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many exercise referrals have been prescribed by general practitioners for the treatment of mild to moderate depression in each year since 2001; and if she will make a statement.

This information is not held centrally. The Choosing Health”” White Paper recognises that regular physical activity reduces the risk of depression and has positive benefits for mental health including reduced anxiety, enhanced mood and self-esteem.
