- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will seek an amendment of European regulations to ensure that British notaries public are allowed to work in all EU member states; and if he will make a statement.

I refer the right hon. Member to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Christchurch (Mr. Chope) in response to a similar question, on 21 March 2006, Official Report, column 302W.The Government continue to support the inclusion of notary services within the European Commission's proposal for a directive on services in the internal market.
