Fluoridation

Question
What professional guidance they have issued regarding the safety for human consumption of (a)   hexafluorosilicic acid; and (b) disodium fluoro-silicate.
Answer

These chemicals are used in the fluoridation of water supplies. Safeguards on their use are contained in the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000, which set a maximum permissible concentration of fluoride in drinking water of 1.5 milligrams per litre.
