- To give nos. sentenced to a gaol by a Crown Court in England & Wales during 1988 who had committed an offence involving violence, sex, robbery & supply of drugs; what proportion of 17 to 20-years-olds & adults were sentenced to immediate custody for violence against the person, burglary, theft & handling, fraud & forgery, criminal damage & drug offences in each of the Crown Court centres in England & Wales during 1988; & the average sentence length in England & Wales for Crown Courts, Magistrates Courts & all courts during 1988. - Incls tables & ref for average sentence lengths to"Criminal Statistics England & Wales 1988" (Tables 7.16 to 7.20), (Holding answer 25.1.90).
