- To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prisoners have absconded from HMP Springhill in each of the last five year, broken down by category of offence; how many such absconders have not yet been apprehended; and if he will make a statement.

Since 1 January 2001, 169 prisoners have absconded from Springhill open prison. 13 prisoners have not yet been apprehended. Details of the absconders and those remaining unlawfully at large are provided in the following tables.
