Security Industry Authority

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many complaints the Security Industry Authority received in the last 12 months relating to the loss of or damage to the documents applicants submitted in order to be considered for a security licence.
Answer

In the 12 months up to October 2006 the Security Industry Authority (SIA) received directly 90 written complaints about the loss of documents submitted in support of SIA licence applications. Over the same period the SIA processed over 120,000 applications.The SIA does not collect information about complaints received about documents submitted in order to be considered for a security licence which were damaged on receipt by the SIA or by the applicants.
