Serious Organised Crime Agency

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department pursuant to the answer of 1 August 2006 to Question 88238, whether the briefing Sir Stephen Lander, Chair of the Serious Organised Crime Agency, gave to the Guardian newspaper and published on 1 April represents Government policy.
Answer

Comments made by the Chair and Director General of the Serious Organised Crime Agency, around the time of its launch, relate to matters within their discretion, but are in line with the Government’s intentions when setting up the Serious Organised Crime Agency.
