Business of the House

Let me remind the hon. Gentleman that, according to recent data from the inspectorate, Northamptonshire is one of the poorest performing police forces in the country. If I were Home Secretary, I would tell the chief constable and the police authority that they need to sort that out and not use claimed budget problems as an excuse. The simple truth is that, like every other police force in the country, Northamptonshire has enjoyed a very significant increase in resources and police numbers in recent years.
