Prisons: Strip Searching
- Question
- Whether the strip searching of children at HM Prison Huntercombe and other prison establishments will now be stopped
- Answer
-
Our policy is that all prisoners, including children and young people, may be subject to full searches. Such searches, formerly known as ““strip searches””, are a necessary tool in order to maintain security, safety and control in prisons, and there are no plans to alter this approach.
