DNA Database
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether a record is kept on the National DNA Database of the initial offence for which a person whose details are on the database was arrested.

The National DNA Database (NDNAD) does not hold any information regarding the type of offence for which a person is arrested and their DNA sample taken. The NDNAD only holds demographic details such as a person’s name, sex, date of birth, ethnic appearance, the sampling force details, the kit barcode number and the arrest summons number. The offence details will be recorded on the Police National Computer (PNC).
