Somalia
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assessment she has made of the Somalia Monitoring Group’s report and recommendations; and if she will make a statement.
- Answer
-
We, along with our UN Security Council partners, are considering the findings of the Somalia Monitoring Group’s report and the responses of states alleged to have violated the arms embargo. With our Security Council partners we continue to urge all parties inside and outside Somalia to refrain from action that could provoke violence, to respect the UN arms embargo on Somalia and to pursue a peaceful resolution through dialogue.
