Iraq: Reparation Payments

Question
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer which UK (a) companies and (b) institutes have received reparation payments from the government of Iraq in each of the last three years; and how much they received.
Answer

I have been asked to reply. To date the United Nations Compensation Commission has made available the sum of US$427,534,014.57 to the Government for payment to UK claimants.Nearly 5,000 UK claimants have so far received disbursements of varying amounts from the Government. A breakdown of these figures is not held centrally. To release the specific information requested would require the permission of each individual company and institution concerned. It is therefore not possible to provide such information without incurring disproportionate cost.
