Arrest Rates

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what the arrest rate was for crimes reported (a) as committed by a burglar, (b) as committed by an armed robber, (c) as a cause of aggravated assault and (d) by a drug dealer in the last period for which figures are available; and what the rate was in 1997.

Answer

Arrest rates are not available and cannot be derived from recorded crime and arrest data that are collected centrally.
