Business question from John Grogan (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 25 January 2007. It occurred during Business statement on Business of the House.
Business of the House
May we have a statement next week from the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry on whether he intends to ask Ofcom to undertake a public interest test into BSkyB’s acquisition of 20 per cent. of the shares in ITV? Is there not an overwhelming case for such a test, given that the Office of Fair Trading has found provisionally that there could be a relevant merger issue?
