Intellectual Property: Reviews
- Question
- To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate his Department has made of the cost of implementing the recommendations in the Gowers Review of Intellectual Property; and what funds have been committed to its implementation.
- Answer
-
I have been asked to reply. The majority of recommendations will be implemented using existing departmental resources. Recommendations with significant costs, such as the establishment of a Strategic Advisory Board and an annual intellectual property strategic analysis fund, will require additional funding (£150 000 for a Secretariat and £500 000 for the fund) which has been built into the 2007 Patent Office Corporate Plan and Budget.
