Science Centres
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what assessment he has made of (a) performance of UK science centres and (b) the adequacy of funding for those centres.
- Answer
-
Science centres are one of many ways in which enthusiasm for science can be generated among young people. My Department is providing £500,000 over two years to help science centres become financially viable. Responsibility for funding and performance of these centres is a matter for the centres themselves.
