Iraq: Asylum

- To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when the proposed tripartite talks on Iraq refugees between the EU, Syria and Iraq are to take place; and what the UK involvement will be.

We welcome Commissioner Michel’s proposal to hold technical level tripartite talks on Iraqi refugees. We understand the proposed talks will be between the Commission and the Governments of Iraq and Syria, but the UK stands ready to assist if required. The date of the talks is still to be confirmed.
